When you buy a website, make sure that it has a lot of text content rich with keywords that apply to the products or services you will be selling or promoting. You want it to have a professional look and feel, but you don’t need it to be too flashy.

Buying a website can have advantages over building one. It just depends whether you have the knowledge or resources to do so. When you are looking to buy a website, make sure it’s a complete solution. Some advantages of buying a website are it could be already producing income, ranking for certain keywords or just plain save you a lot of time.

Once you have bought a website, promoting your website will be the key to it’s success along with the content that is in your website. Those are the things you will focus on if you wish to have a successful online business. This is where the work starts. This is what will demand the most of your time, because if you do not promote your website, the customers will never come your website. They won’t be able to find you out of the millions of websites that are out there.

There are several things you will be doing with your new website. First and foremost, you will be writing articles like this one about the products and services you sell and topics related to them. You will also spend time submitting these articles to websites that offer free content to webmasters.

A lot of website owners are hungry for good original content. They go to these content providers and pull articles related to their products and services and put those articles into their websites. Since your article, like the one I am writing here, has an author bio section at the bottom with links to your website, every website owner that inserts your article into their website is now another website that links to you.

That increases your link popularity, which in turn helps you get better listings in search engine results for your keywords. Writing at least one article everyday will move you up in the search engine rankings before you know it. This is my fourth article for the day, just to give you an idea of how much I’m willing to promote my website.

You can also post a lot on blogs and forums that are related to your products or services. In the signature line you put a link to your website. In this subtle way you not only create another website that has a link to your website, but by participating in the forum or blog you may just have users there want to see your website and might want to buy your product or services.

Just remember that when you buy a website, make sure to pick a niche that you are interested in as well as finding a seller that will provide additional information to help you along the way.

Everyone today wants to save money and this includes trying to find cheap hosting for your website. Paid hosting is a great way to go and if you can save money on hosting fees then why not?

To save money on hosting you can look for a hosting company that offers a free trial for 30 days. This allows you to install your website and test out the features and functions that they offer.

If you go this route then make sure you test out their customer service department. See how long it takes for a support ticket or question to be answered. Can you call them or do they have an online support chat system?

During this time look into the features that your hosting company offers. Do they allow you to install a shopping cart or PHP scripts? Try to think ahead about what features you may require in the future and see if they cater to them.

Another way to find cheap hosting is to look for specials from hosting service providers. Many times you can find a coupon code that can save you a lot of money on hosting services.

You can also reduce your hosting costs by pre-paying in advance. Normally the more months or years that you pay for the cheaper your hosting becomes.

For example at Hostgator if you commit to a 3 year plan your costs will work out to just $3.96 per month. This gives you unlimited disk space, bandwidth and a shared SSL secure server.

You do need to be careful when looking for cheap hosting. The saying you get what you pay for is very true. Some hosting services may offer cheap, cheap prices but there is normally some downfall to this somewhere. They may not have a very good support system. If you encounter problems you will have to try and fix them yourself. This has the potential of having your website offline for hours if not days.

The best method for cheap hosting would be to look for coupons to use. If you can possibly afford to pay months in advance this is another very good option. By doing your homework you can compare various hosting providers and narrow down your choices. Plus don’t forget to ask fellow online marketers or businesses what hosting company they recommend. Word of mouth referrals are very powerful!

Many new marketers choose free hosting when they first set up a website or blog. Obviously the no cost aspect is appealing and it does allow you to get content online fast. The question that remains is , is free hosting reliable enough or should you go with a paid hosting option?

A free hosting account will allow you to set up your webpage quickly so that you can start sharing content with your family and friends. However, if you are running a business bear in mind that a free hosting service will often place advertisements on your site. These ads cannot be removed and can make your site look less professional.

Hosting reliability should be a key concern when choosing any type of hosting account. You want to be certain that your website is always up and running. Of course even the best hosting companies can have downtime. But you want to use a hosting provider which offers the least amount of downtime as possible.

Free hosting can suddenly disappear for hours or even days on end! Is this something that you are prepared for? Plus if you haven’t backed up your content you can lose everything. This could be valuable photos of family memories or important business documents.

All hosting providers will have certain terms and conditions that you must adhere too. With a free host you are not contributing to their monthly income. So if you unmistakably do something outside of their terms they can easily shut your site down.

One good use of free hosting is for running an experiment or test. If you want to experiment with a certain feature or product you can this at no cost. Once you have compiled your results you can decide whether or not you want to go with a paid hosting service.

Mind you free doesn’t not always mean inferior. You can get free hosting with sites like wordpress and blogger. These hosting companies offer great looking websites with thousands of themes available for users. But even these have ads on them. Plus it is quite common for people to suddenly lose their blog overnight for no apparent reason.

If you truly want peace of mind over your website and want to wake up each day knowing that your site is there, then a paid hosting service is your answer. For any information that you want hosted on the web on a temporary basis then by all means use free hosting for as long as necessary.

If you are serious about your business you will need to have your own website. Having control over this site is important. You need access to the site at any time and the ability to upload any form of content. One way to achieve this is by opening up your own hosting account.

Remember with a free website you have no control over how long it will be hosted for. You can easily wake up one morning and the site is gone, along with all your hard work!

Hosting can be confusing so to help you understand why you need hosting I will try to explain the concept of hosting fundamentals.

Every webpage or blog has pages full of content including text, images and videos. For people to access these pages the entire site has to be accessible. This is done by purchasing a domain name and then hosting the name on the internet.

The hosting portion is done by a hosting company. For a fee they will allow you to upload your content and make it viewable for visitors.

Hopefully you now understand why you need hosting. It allows you to have secure web pages on line and gives you control over how your site looks and what type of content you place on it.

Choosing Your Web Host

Of course there are plenty of hosting companies to choose from. To help you narrow your choices down take the following points into consideration. You will then be able to make a wise hosting decision.

Is this a personal or business site?

Do you have a budget for hosting?

How big do you plan or growing your website?

Do they offer Cpanel?

Are you uploading lots of images?

Will you require a shopping cart and payment method?

Do you plan on installing a forum?

If running a business will you need to set up an affiliate program?

What type of security does your site require?

Does the hosting company offer website templates?

Will your account allow for growth or upgrading if and when you require more space?

Is there a support desk and an online customer service system?

As well as thinking about what features you want for your site you need to think about how much work you are prepared to do if things go wrong! Does the hosting company offer free support or will they charge you extra to go into your account and fix something?

Each web hosting company offers different packages and features. Be sure to check each one at and make comparisons before making your final decision.

When people think about choosing a hosting service they immediately look at the cost first and the features second. In fact you want to reverse this. By looking at the features of each hosting service you can decide if the price merits this amount or not?

Unfortunately hosting services come with a multitude of options and features. Sometimes trying to decipher these can be frustrating. To narrow down your choices you want to compare various hosting services. This way you can clearly see what options you are getting with each.

Hosting services are available for free or as a paid service. Now free is often good and there is nothing wrong with this option. But when it comes to hosting your own website I would highly recommend you go for a paid hosting service.

Free hosting would be suitable for testing out a site or service first. Or if you want to just put up a family page you could choose free hosting. Just remember with anything free it could disappear on you though, just a friendly warning!

A good paid hosting service can run you anywhere from a few bucks up to hundreds of dollars. With such a difference in the price range you want to look at the features each hosting service is offering.

This is where it helps to try and plan out your website beforehand. You can then calculate just how much bandwidth and storage capacity you need. If you are running a business then having your pages load quickly is important. So is having the capability to allow people to download gifts or products from your site. You don’t want to run into issues because you suddenly get too many visitors to your site!

Some of the top hosting services are Hostgator and Blue Host but there are hundreds of others to choose from. Some of the key items to look for include looking at reliability issues. This includes things like customers complaining about too much downtime or having major security issues.

Customer service is another crucial element. If something goes wrong you want to know that your hosting service will fix it quickly. Having access to a ticket support system or online customer service support should be among your top priorities.

Make sure you fully understand the type of hosting service you are buying. Can you install multiple domains or only one? Plus I would advise you on having the ability to upgrade your account easily.

By taking the time to think and plan your website you can choose your hosting service accordingly. You definitely don’t want to have to move services!

These premade blogs are already loaded with articles, affiliate products and a great design so instead of taking several days to get your site up, you can literally be in business within an hour.

However, getting traffic to a PLR blog is a bit more of a challenge than a unique website simply because other people have the same content. But, you should not let that dissuade you from using them, because I’m going to show you the exact things you can do to easily get traffic, and profits, from your PLR websites.

Keywords Are Key For Your PLR Blog

Just like with most any other kind of website, keywords are critical to your success with PLR websites. A lot of people give out keyword lists with their PLR packages but I personally think you should ignore those and do your own research because if you use the supplied keywords, then you will be using the same keywords as everyone else. In order to limit your competition, it is much smarter to do your own research and come up with your own keywords.

Ideally, you want to pick a great keyword for you’re the domain name and buy exact match domains for your PLR blogs. If you can’t find the exact match, don’t panic… you can use a word at the end like “guide” or “tips” or whatever you like and you will still get a benefit, although not quite as much as if you can find a domain with the exact phrase only. I usually only buy .com, .org or .net domains as those seem to work best for some strange reason.

Once, you have your keyword, you want to change the homepage to have that keyword on there. If you can, try to include it in an The title, the description, your keyword meta tag in your header, H1 tag, alt tag of an image, bolded somewhere in your text and sprinkled throughout your homepage.

Getting Backlinks To PLR Blogs

If you want your website to rank in the SERPS, then you need backlinks. This is just as true for a PLR Blog as it is for any other type of site.

But where do you get them from?

My favorite places are article submissions, blog comments and press releases. Social bookmarking is good to do to but the benefits are really minimal so you don’t need to go crazy bookmarking every single page on your site.

What I would do is write a press release (or outsource) and submit to several of the top press release directories.

Then, write up about 5 or 6 articles that target your main keyword that you are trying to rank the homepage for as well as different variations of that keyword. You are going to submit these articles to the top article directories and link back to your PLR Blogs homepage as well as 1 inner page in the resource box. I usually submit them to ezinearticles.com first, then once approved I submit to a variety of other directories, changing the resource box to link back to my other articles (more on that in the next section).

While you are spreading your article around, you might consider also submitting it to some of the “web 2.0” properties such as blogspot, tubmlr, weebly, squidoo etc… The more the merrier and if you can rewrite the article for each one that’s even better.

It’s important to note here that you don’t want to always just link to your homepage, you want to also link to your inner pages and category pages. Also, vary the anchor text to your homepage so that you are not always using your main keyword (only use that about 70% of the time and variations the rest of the time).

Next, go out and find some high PR blog posts to comment on. When I say “high PR blog posts” I mean the PR of the actual blog page, not just the PR the main domain page. Take the time to read the post and leave an informative and insightful comment and you will be rewarded with a nice backlink to the homepage of your PLR blog. Once your comment is accepted, ping the url so it gets noticed by the search engines.

You MUST Backlink Your Backlinks

These days, it’s not enough to just submit articles, you need to backlink your articles so that they carry some clout, after all, getting links to your PLR blogs from a page with plenty of back links that point too it is a hundred times better than getting a link from a page that has 0 links pointing to it.

So, what you need to do when you are submitting your articles to the directories and web2.0 properties is use 1 resource box link for your website and the other for one of your other articles.

Now, I know there are a lot of complicated link wheel diagrams out there, but I just prefer to randomly link back to other articles this way you will have less of a chance of creating any kind of pattern that the SE’s can detect. I usually pick a couple of top articles that I throw most of the links at but I do spread it around so that almost all of them get some juice.

Leveraging Your Traffic

It’s important to realize that you probably are not going to see traffic overnight, but after a few weeks you will start to see some dribble in.

Now comes the fun part.

Once you start seeing around 10 or 20 unique visitors a day, you want to look in your logs and see what keywords you are being found for. Then you want to go to google and see where you rank for each of these keywords. If you have your PLR blogs in Google webmaster tools, you can easily see what keywords you are getting clicks for and where your page ranks.

For those keywords where you are not already #1, look at the competition for these keywords and pick out the ones that you think you can rank for easily. The repeat the article writing and submitting process for these pages.

Keep repeating this process and you will find that your traffic builds higher and higher as your pages move up in the SERPS!

So, getting traffic to your PLR blogs is really no different than any other website or blog. It might seem like a lot of work at first, but what you are doing is setting up an income stream that earns you money day in and day out with very little maintenance once the initial

One of the problems I have always faced since working for myself is trying to keep my focus and my motivation. This gets even worse during the winter months as I think I suiffer from SAD .

This year (2012) I plan to get over this and boost my motivation and focus. One of the ways I have doen this is joined an Amazon Mini Sites coaching course and network group. This is a group of like minded IMers run by Lisa Gergets who I have admired for a long time. They have regular skype group meetings where you can rant and share your problems which seems to help “recharge my batteries”.

The second thing which I am really bad at is organisation. When my brain is all scrambled with things related and not related to my business, it doesn’t help when my notes and files are all over the place and when my desk looks like a warzone. I therefore plan to spend more time in 2012 to make sure my desk and computer is organised so that I can ike me and things you downloaded on your PC stored all over the place I also plan to set up some kind of to do list which may be via the skype group I belong to so everyone can see what my taks for the day is and help inspire me to work
